Wholesale Hostas
In order to find wholesale hostas, you would need to understand a little about the wholesale nursery business. While most wholesale plant growers do not sell to the retail public, there are several sources to investigate. The quickest available information is on the Internet. The nursery wholesalers are beginning to post their goods and services online.

Another source to find wholesale hosta plants is in the wholesale plant magazines. The wholesale plant industry has trade magazines that cater to the plant industry exclusively. Local libraries have lists of trade magazines that are industry specific. The trade magazines carry advertisements in the classified ad section that may specifically relate to the task of finding wholesale hosta plants.

There are also retail/wholesale plant nurseries that produce plants for both markets. Many times retail nurseries will sell wholesale based on volumes of plants desired. Nurseries have their own in-house standards of what constitutes a retail sale or wholesale offering based on quantities of plants desired. You can always ask if there is a price break on quantities purchased.

Nurseries have a daunting task of predicting how many plants to grow to satisfy their market. To find wholesale hosta plants may be as simple as contacting many retail nurseries that grow hosta and requesting wholesale pricing for larger quantities. An over supply of plants usually does not present purchasing opportunities until the end of the growing season when retailers have an over supply of plants. Selling wholesale hostas may be the only way they can recoup some of their costs for over production.
